The community is invited to celebrate at the light station which has a scenic walking trail that leads from the beach to The Keeper’s House, Gift Shop and lighthouse tower. This family-friendly free event takes place at the Heceta Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast in the Keeper's Home.

The Heceta Lighthouse Interpretive Center at the Keepers' Home is extending its tour season to include weekends in September. The keeper's home will be open to the public 11-3 on Saturdays and Sundays in September. There will be no tours available on September 15 and 29 due to the home being rented for wedding services.

Located at the top of a 205 foot tall headland, the 56 foot tall Heceta Head Lighthouse shines it’s light visible for 21 miles, making it the strongest light on the Oregon Coast. Originally built in 1894, the lighthouse is now maintained by Oregon Parks and Rec Dept and the assistant lightkeepers house is operated as a Bed and Breakfast.
